Last week, a man created a spreadsheet to show his wife how often she was denying him sex. In turn, the wife posted the spreadsheet to Reddit, and the internet commenced in shaming this man for expecting sex from his wife and being a complete nerd about it by using a spreadsheet to engage in rape culture.
But, the spreadsheet and subsequent response just reinforces the stereotype that women do not enjoy sex and that in marriage, men are often left (literally) high and dry. That’s simply not true, and to prove this, one brave woman (me) decided to make a spreadsheet of all the times I have been denied sex by men that I encounter on the street or while waiting in line at NAPA.
